Morris Douglas Jones

June 26, 1953 — February 16, 2024

Suffolk

On Friday February 16, 2024, Death Angels visited Sentara Obici Hospital to receive Morris D Jones. Morris was born on June 26, 1953 in Suffolk Va. to the late Gladys O Jones and Leon King. Morris accepted Christ at an early age. He was a graduate of John F. Kennedy High School. He retired from the U.S. Army and QVC.

Morris was an honorable and loving person. He loved his family and loved the Lord. He had an affectionate smile that would light up a room. He was a devoted husband to his late wife and a doting father to his late daughter. If you were ever in his presence he would tell stories of the time he served in the Army overseas. He also loved looking out for his young nieces (Serenity, KyAsia and Azihia) and nephews (Messiah and Kamijah) while their mom worked. Him and his Shortywop (Ren) would walk and go to the park. He spent countless hours debating with his brother (Jerry) about politics, sports or just talking about their younger days in South Suffolk. His famous barbecue ribs will be missed at family functions. Morris was preceded in death by his wife Jean Mason Jones, his beautiful daughter Batina Jones, his maternal grandmother Annie Mae Jones, maternal aunt Irene Hall, sister Carmen Jones and brother Frank Jones.

Morris leaves to cherish his memories two aunts Delois Knight and Helen Brown, one Uncle Clifton D. Jones (Shirley), four sisters Joyce Jones, Janice Jones, Tracy Wiggins (Raymond) all of Suffolk, Lisa Flood (Robert) of Smithfield, two brothers Jerry King and Mark Jones (Judy) of Suffolk, a devoted and special niece Kashawnda Jones, and two special nephews Karon Jones and Rayshard Jones all of Suffolk a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
A special thanks to Sentara Obici Hospital staff, Bishop A.S. Hall, Pastor Travis Parker, and Crocker Funeral Home.
