Milton C. Hill was born on August 16, 1943, and peacefully passed away on December 7, 2024. He was the son of the late James and Bernice Hill. Milton is survived by his children: Nancy Tyler (Maurice Tyler, husband), Monica Hill, and Anthony Davis (Grace Davis, wife). He was one of ten siblings, with two brothers still living: James Hill (Lora Hill, wife) and John Hill (Valerie Hill, wife).
Milton was a proud grandfather to two grandsons, Tavis Hill and Anthony Davis, and eight granddaughters: Temara Turner, Tamala Armstrong (Breon Armstrong), Keshara Grant, Destiny Hill, Maria Tyler, Tamia Tyler, Aliyah Tyler, and Daysha Hunt. He was also blessed with eight great-granddaughters: Ayonce Chapman, Ayonah Chapman, Ada Harvey, Brielle Armstrong, Emory Tyler, Khloe Hill, Damia Hunt, and Damani Hunt, as well as three great-grandsons: Tavis Chapman-Hill, Deante Harvey-Grant, and Jamari Hunt.
Milton had a long and varied career. He retired as a forklift driver from General Electric and also from Sawyer’s Plumbing Company. However, his work ethic didn’t stop there. Milton went on to start Milton’s Landscaping LLC, where he was a professional landscaper, and he was deeply involved in his community. He founded the Busy Bee Club, which supported local children and encouraged community engagement. Milton was known for his love of family and his legendary country cookouts. He was a beloved figure in the Suffolk community, where he was well known in local convenience stores and respected by all who knew him.
A public viewing will be held 3-7pm, Thursday, December 19, 2024 in the Melvin J. Blowe Chapel. A celebration of life will be held 12 Noon, Friday, December 20, 2024 at Mt. Lebanon Church of God in Christ. He will be laid to rest at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery. Professional services with dignity have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home, Inc.
