Mildred Yvonne Moore-Olds

Mildred Yvonne Moore-Olds, 82, transitioned Sunday February 20th at her home in Suffolk, Virginia. Born in Hobson, Virginia, Sister Yvonne/Ms. Mildred as she was so affectionately known by, was born to Allen & Daisy Moore and the stepdaughter of Christine Batten-Moore. She was a member of Canaan Baptist Church in Hampton, Virginia where she was president of the Seniors Usher Board. Not long after moving to Suffolk, Sister Yvonne found a new blessed church home at Healing Chapel Baptist Church under the pastoral leadership of Pastor Morris Almond. Sister Yvonne enjoyed gardening, bowling and hosting family. Her fiery spirit, her immeasurable love of family and her true devotion to the gospel of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ were amongst the many things that made Sister Yvonne easy to love and hard to forget. Sister Yvonne is survived by her children Katherine, Allen(Angie) and Patrick. Her granddaughters Jasmine and Janeé(Jamar), two great grandchildren Julian and J’la and another soon-to-be born to Janeé. She was preceded in death by her parents Allen & Daisy Moore, step-mother Christine, her brothers Richard Lee, Howard Jr “Bruh”, Leroy “Cookie”, Cyrus “Dounk”, Robert “Bubba”, Larry (Veronica), William Henry “David”, Joe Lee and sisters Elsie and Paulette. She’ll be cherished always by her surviving siblings Alberta Hedgepeth (Mike), Emma Mae Perrine (Edward), Estelle Key (John Sr.) Vera Smith (James), Reta Smith, and George Lee Mann Sr. (Aniliza) and a host of family and friends from Virginia, Philadelphia, Ohio, California, New Mexico, Georgia, Florida, North Carolina, Germany, Vegas, Pittsburgh, Delaware, and Texas. A celebration of life will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, March 5, 2022 at Healing Chapel Chapel Baptist Church. She will be laid to rest in Hampton Memorial Gardens.
