Mildred Lee Lassiter

August 20, 1926 — October 16, 2021

In the late night, of Friday, October 16, 2021 Mildred R. Lassiter answered the call to leave her earthly home and entered into eternal rest to be with the Lord at 95 years of age. Mildred was predeceased by her loving husband, Sherman Lassiter. Mildred was born August 20, 1926, born to the union of the late Lenwood and Marie Reid. She survived one sister Mare Duke, two predeceased sisters Gladys Rabb, Dollie Reid and one predeceased brother Linwood Reid III. In 1942, Mildred R. Lassiter married the late Sherman Lassiter, from this union four children were born the late Rev. Sherman Edward Lassiter (Esther), Kasandra L. Goodman (Bobby Sr.), Ellis M. Lassiter (Shelia) and Baby Girl Lassiter. Mildred R. Lassiter attended public schools in Nansmond County. Mildred worked at Norfolk Naval Supply Center, Norfolk, VA for 25 years until retirement. Mildred R. Lassiter was a faithful member of Little Mt. Zion Baptist Church since childhood. Mildred served as an usher and Deaconess were she loved her church family and pastor. Mildred R. Lassiter leaves to cherish her loving memories nine grandchildren Yolanda N. Brown (Seth), Carlton E. Joyner Jr. (Friend Tiffany), Lajuan A. Goodman (Shauna), Robby J. Goodman (Keyauna), Demetrice Lassiter-Norment, Tameisha Moore (Thomas), Latasha Lassiter, Andrea Walton Boyd (Travis), and A.J. Walton. Fourteen great grandchildren. Kevin Lassiter, Anthony Day, Allegra Brown, Jayana Pinede, Skylar Goodman, Royce Goodman, Mirsaan C. Norment Jr., Kametria KaBebe Rose Norment, Hannah Lula Norment, Desaan Isaac Lassiter, Keziah Lassiter, Samiah Griffin, DeAndre Walton, and Jordan Boyd. Six great great grandchildren Sincere Na-Shaun White, Syn-Nirah De-Oyna Young, Ifa Star Young, Journey Forever Young, Caleb Santana Ikee Young and Malcolm Campbell Jr. A celebration of life will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 23, 2021 in the Melvin J. Blowe Chapel of Crocker Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest in Carver Memorial Cemetery. Professional services with dignity have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home, Inc.
