Mildred Blanche Ashe

MILDRED BLANCHE ASHE, 84, of Norcross, Georgia, departed this life on September 9, 2023 at The Country Home in Morris Plains, New Jersey. She was born on August 25, 1939 to the late Audrey Langston Ashe and Thomas Ashe. She was predeceased by her sisters, Vandell Arnold and Evangeline Bynum along with her brothers, Thomas Lee Ashe, Nathaniel Herman Ashe, Thaddeus McCoy Ashe, and Allison Garrett Ashe.

Mildred completed grade school in Nansemond County Schools of Suffolk, Virginia. She later attended Norfolk State University in Norfolk, Virginia and LaGuardia Community College in Queens, NY where she obtained her B.S. Degree. Throughout her life, Mildred was employed with the Board of Education in Brooklyn, NY, Hewlett Packard in Georgia, and Amica Life Insurance in Georgia. Her final workplace was Southwest Airlines in Georgia from which she retired.

Mildred leaves to cherish her memory, sister Dorothy M. Brown of Atlanta, Georgia, brother Marvin L. Ashe (Joyce) of Portsmouth, Virginia and June K. DeJesus (Ashe), niece and caregiver in Dover, New Jersey. Mildred enjoyed life and loved to travel. She was always willing to help her family and friends in any way she could. To some family members, she was affectionately known as “Biscuit." She had a beautiful smile and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

A celebration of life will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 23, 2023 in the Melvin J. Blowe Chapel of Crocker Funeral Home.  She will be laid to rest in Carver Memorial Cemetery. Professional services with dignity have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home, Inc.
