Michele M. Goings

Reflection On The Life Of Michele Goings:

It is with deep sorrow that we mourn the passing of Michele M. Goings of Suffolk, VA on March 26, 2024 at the age of 77. Although we mourn, today we choose to celebrate her life.

Michele was the youngest of three children born on April 30, 1946 in Bronx, NY to the Union of Jack and Esther Massa. Along life’s journey she met and married the love of her life, the late John Baptist Goings from Carrsville, VA where they never left each other’s side. Out of their union were born four children  Lisa, Robert, Laura and Johnny. 

Michele’s character reflected being a strong, sweet, fun, innocent spirit who always enjoyed making people laugh. She loved to fellowship with family and friends and always kept her children in her heart. She was a prayer warrior, a fighter and had faith to move mountains. She enjoyed eating (especially pizza), cooking, coloring and baking cakes. She had a special love for birds and dogs. She enjoyed things that smelled good and sprayed fragrances on everything around her such as on curtains, couches, bedding and even her hair. 

She will be dearly missed and will always be remembered for her unconditional love. 

Her memories will be cherished forever by two sons: Robert Goings of Ellicott City, MD and Johnny Goings of Queens, NY; two daughters: Lisa Marshall (Gregory) of Suffolk, VA and Laura Johnson (Keith) of Suffolk, VA; eight grandchildren: Zachary  (Mahera), Quincy, Amanda, Aaron, Matthew, Andrew, Julia and Jacob; one brother, Bernard Massa of Queens, NY; and a host of nieces, family and friends.

To the strongest woman we know, you will forever be in our hearts. 

A visitation with family and friends will be held 10:00am-12:00pm, Friday, April 5, 2024, immediately followed by a celebration of life commencing at noon in the Melvin J. Blowe Chapel of Crocker Funeral Home, Inc. Ms. Goings will be laid to rest at Laurel Hill United Church of Christ Cemetery. Professional services with dignity have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home, Inc.
