Michael E. Jones

June 4, 1966 — February 13, 2021

It was on February 13, 2021 that the angels of Heaven were sent to call Home Michael Jones a.k.a “Mike Jones.” Michael was a native of Freeport, Long Island, New York, where he attended Freeport Public Schools, K-12. As a young child, Michael loved riding his moped in the neighborhood, being with his family and friends, and has always enjoyed music and dancing (house music was his favorite). Many would describe him as the “life of the party.” Michael always had a kind heart and would do anything he could to help his family and friends. Everyone who encountered Michael was left with a profound appreciation for living life to the fullest. He later relocated to Suffolk, VA where he was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church and began his career as a plumber. After years of studying and dedication, Michael did not cease until he obtained his Journeyman Plumber license. He last served as a Journeyman Plumber with the Plumber’s Local Union 200 of Ronkonkoma, NY. He eventually stepped out on faith and accomplished his goal of becoming an entrepreneur of Affordable Plumbing Repair, LLC. With fond memories, Michael leaves to cherish his love and life, his mother and father Mildred and Jessie Jones of Suffolk, VA; his daughter, LeBrit Nickerson-Jones of Baltimore, MD; his sister, Stacey Falls of Suffolk, VA (her special name for him was Dot-du’); his (God)brother, Scott Richardson of Freeport, NY; his nephew, Sherrod Falls of Suffolk, VA; his grandmother and grandfather, Willie and Dorothy Moore of Windsor VA (their first-born grandchild); God-sister Terry Murry of Uniondale, NY; God-sister Jessica Jackson of Virginia Beach, VA; a devoted friend Carmencita Brooks (“Cookie”), and a host of other relatives and friends. A viewing will be held 12:00 p.m.-6:00p.m Sunday, February 21, 2021 in the Melvin J. Blowe Chapel. A celebration of life will be held noon, Monday, February 22, 2021 at Balm Church East Campus, 523 E. Washington Street, Suffolk, Virginia 23434. He will be laid to rest in Carver Memorial Cemetery. Professional services with dignity have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home, Inc. To order memorial trees or send flowers to the family in memory of Michael E.
