Michael Anthony Barnes, Sr.

Michael Anthony Barnes, Sr., 57, of Wexford Drive, Suffolk transitioned Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at his residence. He was the son of Edward Barnes, Jr., and the late Verlia M. Barnes. He retired from Norfolk Naval Shipyard as a Ship Inspector. He leaves to cherish his memories, his father, Edward Barnes, Jr.; daughter, Whitney M. Barnes of Atlanta, GA; son, Michael Anthony Barnes, Jr. of Newport New, VA; four sisters, Millicent E. Anstead, Nancy B. Boone, Teresa W. Chapman, and Tiffany D. Ulsh; three grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends. A celebration of life will be held 1:00 p.m. Sunday, January 20, 2019 in the Melvin J. Blowe Chapel of Crocker Funeral Home. Elder Trevon Boone will deliver the message of comfort. He will be laid to rest in Albert G.
