Melvin Lee Porter

Melvin Lee Porter gained his wings on June 24, 2022. He was born on May 15th 1949 in Norfolk, VA. He was the son of Wilbur Porter and Elsie Newby. He was a student of Oakland Elementary and John F. Kennedy High School. He joined Olive Branch at a young age. He loved to play cards, look at Westerns', joke alot and be around his family and friends. He leaves to cherish his memories his mother, Ms. Elsie Newby; son, Milton Myrick (Tanya) of Pennsylvania; sister, Marie Hamilton (Booker) of Maryland; two grandsons, Dante Myrick (Jenna) of Pennsylvania and Charlie Smith of Pennsylvania; two great grandsons, Tristen Myrick and Jaxon Smith of Pennsylvania, a host of nieces, nephews and friends. A celebration of life will be held noon, Saturday, July 2, 2022 at Olive Branch Baptist Church, 5200 Milners Road, Suffolk, VA.
