Mazie D. Brown

In loving memory of Mazie D. Brown, who passed away on July 25, 2022. Mazie affectionately known as "Tiny" was the devoted wife of Ernest A. Brown and loving mother of Traci, Terence, Phillip and Erik . Mazie D. Brown will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Mazie D. Brown was born in St. Matthews, SC on July 29, 1939. At the age of three, Mazie and her parents Jannie and Samuel Bellinger moved to Brooklyn, New York. Growing up as an only child she loved to spend time with her family and friends. Mazie graduated from Julia Richmond High School. After graduation she worked as an Administrative Professional for numerous companies in the private and public sector. Mazie retired from the NYC Board of Education. In 1997, Mazie and Ernest moved to Suffolk, Virginia where she continued her passion for gardening, sewing, knitting and travelling. She was an avid reader and participated in a community book club. Mazie also enjoyed playing cards with family and friends. Mazie D. Brown was a strong, outspoken, fun loving stylish woman who faced every challenge in her life with courage and dignity. She was a source of inspiration to us all and will be deeply missed by everyone whose lives she touched. Mazie was predeceased by her husband, Ernest; her parents, Jannie and Samuel Bellinger and her son Erik Brown She leaves behind three children, Traci Fluellen (Gerald), Terence Brown, and Phillip Brown (Alison). her granddaughter Jasmine and grandsons, Ivan and Jourdan. A celebration of life will be held at Crocker Funeral Home on August 6th. 2022. Mother, you will always be in our hearts and we will never forget you. We love you so much. Rest in peace.
