Mary A. Kee

Mary Ann Kee, 74, of 1234 Lake Kennedy Drive, Suffolk, Virginia transitioned Thursday, July 11, 2019 at her residence. Born in Southampton County, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Lillian Johnson Beale and Ludie Beale besides her parents she was preceded in death by her daughter, Vanessa Kee. She retired from Shared Hospital Services in 1998 after 20 years of faithful service and in 2011 she retired from Suffolk Public Schools after 12 years of faithful and dedicated service. She was a former member of Tabernacle Christian Church. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Herman Kee, Sr., of Suffolk; two daughters, Druscilla Kee and Tammy Kee-Freeman(Darren) both of  Suffolk; son, Herman Kee Jr.(Chante) of Suffolk; four sisters, Ellen Knight of Franklin, VA, Marion Beale of Suffolk, VA, Mildred Reid of Suffolk, and Betty Williams of Portsmouth; five grandchildren, Ciera Freeman of Houston, TX, Tamara Freeman of Suitland, MD, Christopher Kee of Suffolk, Monae Kee of Suffolk, and Teshon Garland of Suffolk; four sisters-in-law, Bessie Kee, Shirley Kee, Celia Kee all of Suffolk, and Vivian Kee of Baltimore, MD; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A celebration of life will be held noon, Thursday, July 18, 2019 at Union Baptist Church, 5414 Nansemond Parkway, Suffolk, Virginia. Bishop Clarence V. Russell, III will deliver the message of comfort. She will be laid to rest in Carver Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive guest at 1234 Lake Kennedy Drive, Suffolk, Virginia.
