Mary Catherine McCray Belfield

Mary Catherine McCray Belfield, 78, of Nixon Drive, Suffolk, Virginia transitioned Monday, April 5, 2021 at Autumn Care of Suffolk. She was the daughter of the late Bertha Lee Baker McCray and William McCray, Sr. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her son, Willie Belfield, Jr.; two sisters, Emma J. Beale and Lucille Butts; two brothers, Charles McCray and Jesse Lee McCray. She was employed with First Baptist Hoffler Home for Adults. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Willie Belfield, Sr.; daughter, Mary E. Belfield of Suffolk; two sons, Christopher Belfield of Suffolk, VA and Gregory Belfield (Natasha) of Hampton, Virginia; brother, William McCray (Janet) of Smithfield, VA; 13 grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren; a special niece, Rachel "Pudding" Worrell; special friends, Sharon Crocker and Joselean Jones; special cousin, Ann Baker; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. A celebration of life will be held 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 13, 2021 in the Melvin J. Blowe Chapel of Crocker Funeral Home. Rev. Dr. Steven G. Blunt will deliver the message of comfort. She will be laid to rest in Little Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. Due to CDC guidelines the family will not host a repast.
