Margaret Banks Rodgers

Margaret B. Rodgers, 87, of Chesapeake, VA, transitioned Saturday, January 20, 2024 at home. She is the daughter of the late Estelle Deloatch. She is also preceded in death by her husband Charles E. Rodgers; daughters, Grace Garris, Justine Garris; sons, Sylvester C. Bowers and Martin L. Bowers.

She attended East Suffolk School Class of 1954. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. She retired from Suffolk Public School and Autumn Care Nursing Home.

She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Esther B. Paul, Suffolk, VA, Isaac D. Bowers (Joanne) of Suffolk, VA, Christine B. McCoy (Barry) of Chesapeake, David M. Bowers of Suffolk, VA, Cora L. Brown of Twin Lake Michigan, Mia Goodman (David) of Suffolk, VA, Martha E. Murph of Norfolk, VA, Joyce Bush of Hawaii and Mary E. Rogers (Carlton) of Portsmouth, VA; a host of grandchildren; great-grandchildren; three sisters, Fannie J. Pruden of North Carolina, Etta R. Skinner of Suffolk, VA and Vivian White (Vernon) of Portsmouth, VA; two brothers, Joseph Deloatch of Maryland and John Deloatch of Suffolk; a host of other relatives and friends.

Viewing will be held 10:30 a.m. the day of service. celebration of life will be held noon, Friday, January 26, 2024 at Oak Grove Baptist Church. She will be laid to rest in the  Banks/Deloatch Cemetery. Professional services with dignity have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home, Inc.
