Margaret Jones

Margaret Davis Jones, 85, of Suffolk, passed away on Monday, November 23, 2020, at Sentara Obici Hospital Suffolk. She was born in Suffolk on August 8, 1935, to the late Jefferson and Ruth Davis. Margaret was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and she always put her family first. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She worked 39 years at Planter’s Peanuts as a Shop Steward now known as Kraft Foods. Where she was known as hard working dedicated employee. She oversaw the production of numerous candy lines that were produced at the Suffolk plant. She was predeceased by her siblings Alton Jordan, Angela Davis, Arthur Davis, Elsie Hites Jefferson Davis, and Ruth Davis. She is survived by her daughter Beverly D. Foster (William); Grandchildren William A. Foster (Tenishia), Tamekia R. Foster, and Ashlea N. Foster; Great-grandsons Masen D. Foster and Landen B. Foster. Sisters; Daisy Bynum; Roxy Godwin, Francis Lowd (Raleigh), Carolyn Davis, and Paula Johnson. Brothers; Clinton Davis (Venita), Henry Davis, Roosevelt Davis (Ernestine), and Bernard Davis (Yolanda). A host of nieces, nephews and dedicated friends; Ms. Nancy Ortiz, Ms. Cora Lambert, Ms. Sylvia Outlaw, and Mrs. Francis Johnson. A host of other friends that brought her so much joy. Her Pastor, the Reverend Bernard Thomas and her church family at Little Bethal Baptist Church, Suffolk, VA. A memorial service will be held at Nansemond Suffolk Cemetery at 12:00 PM, Tuesday, December 1, 2020. Professional services with dignity have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home, Inc.
