Malcolm Nathaniel Hardy

January 12, 1980 — February 23, 2023

Malcolm Nathaniel Hardy, 43, of Churchland, in Portsmouth, VA passed away on February 23, 2023. Malcolm was a special man; he had a loving, caring, and trusting heart. He was a US Marine, a Biker, a Mason, and a Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Brother. He possessed a smile and disposition that would light up a room. He loved with all his heart and family meant everything to him. At an early age, Malcolm became a member of and was baptized at Noble Street Baptist Church where he was a member of the Boy Scout Troop and learned character development and values that he maintained throughout his life. Malcolm served as an Assault Amphibian Crewmember in the United States Marine Corps. He was deployed to southwest Asia, participating in combat/contingency operations in Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He was awarded the Combat Action Ribbon, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, and the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal. Malcolm graduated from Churchland High School and was in his junior year at Norfolk State University before his unit deployed. Malcolm leaves to cherish his memory, his mother and father, Walter and Janet Hardy, his Grandmother Doris Beale, his older brother Antywane Hardy, and his baby sister Ashley Hardy. Additionally, he was loved by his aunts; Joyce Brown (James), Belinda Hopson, Kathy Chambliss, and Virginia Jones. He will be missed by a host of cousins, relatives, friends, coworkers, and his previously estranged and separated wife Nylia Chanell Hardy of Warner Robbins, GA. In Loving Memory: Terry Darnell Hardy (Uncle), Randolph Beale (Uncle), Ronald Hopson, Sr. (Uncle) Michael Hardy (Uncle) and LaCurtis Jones (Uncle). Due to COVID 19 considerations there will not be a Repass Meal or home visitations. Thank you and continue to Stay Safe. For with God nothing shall be impossible, Luke 1:37 ESV A visitation with family will be held 5-7 p.m. Thursday, March 2, 2023. A celebration of life will be held 11 a.m. Friday, March 3, 2023 at Noble Street Baptist Church, Portsmouth, Virginia. He will be laid to rest in Carver Memorial Cemetery.
