Mabel went on to share eternity with her Lord and Savior on February 28, 2019. Mabel leaves to cherish her memories, a devoted husband, Jeffrey Cross, who catered to her every need until her passing; she also has three loving children who remained the light of her life, and the apple of her eye throughout. They are, Kewuna Boothe Roberts (James), Vance Boothe, and Lance Boothe; four cherished grandchildren, Jashaun Boothe, Kimora Roberts, Layla Boothe, and Jasmine Roberts; three brothers, Gene Boothe, Jr., Todd Boothe (Theresa), and Tony Boothe; three aunts, Princess Boothe, Margie Boothe-Gripper (Al), and Mable Lee Stallings; uncle, Sherman Beasley (Lee); four brothers-in-law, Joseph Cross, Robert Cross, William Cross, and James Cross; two sisters- in-law, Vanessa Hicks (Willie) and Marion Copeland (Donell); three great aunts, Eunice Wiley, Lucinda Norgrove, and Cleoria Williams; a special nephew-in-law, Timothy Cross (Yashika). She also has a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. There were several beloved relatives and friends that preceded her in death, most notably, were her paternal grandparents, Herbert and Alene Boothe, and Uncle Thomas Earl Boothe. Mabel was primarily educated in the Suffolk school system, and was a 1980 graduate of John F. Kennedy High School. She also later attended and completed the cosmetology program at Suffolk Beauty Academy. Mabel's professional life included various occupations throughout her life including, Cosmetology, healthcare, food services, and the hospitality industry. Whatever endeavor she pursued, she was always known for her vivacious personality, and smiling face. She was loved by everyone who knew her. Mabel enjoyed various hobbies and interest over the years, most notably was her cooking skills. She enjoyed preparing and serving  meals for others. She took great care, and time to plan, and host many family events. Later in her life she enjoyed fishing and connecting on Facebook, however, her greatest passion was shopping, she never saw a sale she didn't like. She believed one should always dress to empress. At one point Mabel pulled up stakes and moved to central North Carolina, where she lived for many years until one day, Gods hand intervened in her life, that intervention resulted in the chance meeting, and subsequent reunification with an old flame (her current husband), and from that moment on they were inseparable. After moving back to Suffolk she soon married who she affectionately called "The love of her life". From that moment until her passing she remained a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to all that crossed her path. As Mabel settled in to life back at home she began to have a burning desire to get baptized. So she became a member of her family's church, Zion Tabernacle Baptist Church, in Corapeake, North Carolina.  Words cannot explain just how much you will be missed, we will always honor your wishes and your name. And that is to love one another, as you have loved all of us. Per the family request all services will be private. She will be entombed in Carver Memorial Cemetery. Professional services with dignity have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home, Inc.
