"Earth has no sorrow that Heaven cannot heal" On May 20, 2019, surrounded by her loved ones at the Asterdam Nursing Home our Lord and Savior saw a cure was not to be, he quietly whispered Lucinda come home to me. Lucinda was born July 21, 1928 in Corapeake, North Carolina. She was the youngest of six children. She was preceded in death by her twin Oscar Luther, two sisters, Marie Williams and Alene Boothe; two brothers, Dred Lewis and Glynn Thomas, the wheel is now again complete. Lucinda received her Lord and Savior at a young age and was baptized at Zion Tabernacle Church where she remained a faithful member. Due to untimely demise of her mother she was relocated to New York City by her oldest sister, Marie Williams where she continued her education in New York City School System and was raised with Marie's children. Lucinda has a passion for fashion and was always elegantly attired. Cindy was patriotic and volunteered her spare time as a greater at the U.S.O. Lucinda was movie buff where she and her niece Della Mae Stewart went to at least once a week. In 1959 she met Julian F. Norgrove at Ephseus S.D.A. Church and later re-baptized with her niece Christine Williams. Lucinda and Julian Norgrove married in 1960, this union was blessed with three devoted daughters, Marie, Alma, and Arlene. Cindy was meticulous at handling and making money to the point she was supportive of her two granddaughters passion to visit the "Mother Land" (Africa). Lucinda was associated with path finders at Ephseus where she refurbished used clothes to the less fortunate worldwide. Prior to her employment she worked for Irene and Herbert Ernest manager of their state. She leaves to cherish her passing three daughters Marie Brown, Almirah Norgrove-Harris son-in-la Vernon Harris, Decease Thaddeus Brown and Arlene Norgrove all of New York City; four grandchildren, Thaddeus Brown, Laverne Harris, Maleeka Harris, and Maya Harris; one great-grand Olivia Watson the apple of her eye one sister-in-law, Cleoria Williams and a host of other family and friends. A celebration of life will be held noon, Friday, June 7, 2019 at Zion Tabernacle Baptist Church, Corapeake, North Carolina. Pastor William Norman will deliver the message of comfort.
