Deacon Louis J. Bagley, 66, of Burnetts Way, peacefully transitioned to his eternal rest on Friday, March 27, 2026, at his residence, surrounded by his loved ones. Louis was the son of the late Joe L. Bagley and Mother Helen H. Bagley.

Louis was a graduate of John F. Kennedy High School. He was an avid sports fan. You could find him at any time watching a game on TV. He was a coach for several years before traveling the country as an umpire and referee. After retiring from calling games, he started working for Suffolk Public Schools' Food and Nutrition Services. He retired from Suffolk Public School in 2022 after 43 years of service.

Louis gave his life to the Lord at an early age. He was faithful to the ministry at his home church, New Mt. Joy Food for Living Ministries, Suffolk, VA, under the leadership of the late Bishop W. P. Wiggins, Sr. He later became a member of Tabernacle Baptist Outreach Center, under the leadership of Pastor Superintendent Trevon Boone. He served faithfully in the ministry at T.B.O.C. until his health began to decline. He served as the pastor's armor bearer, on the deacon board, male chorus, and other choirs. Deacon Bagley truly lived his life as Ecclesiastes 9:10 states, “Whatever your hands find to do, do it with all your might.” He was truly a servant of God who loved God with all his heart.

Louis was loving, kind-hearted, and funny, with a great sense of humor. He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is predeceased by his parents and sisters, Gloria Bagley Rodgers and Reginia Artis.

Louis leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Tamra Bagley; sons, Travis Artis (Lula), Brian Jones (Mary), and Louis Bagley; bonus children, Andrae’ Riddick and Donisa Horace; seven grandchildren, Travis Artis, Jr., Sharmari, Brian, Jaiden and Zaiden Davis, Charrae Banks, and Tilyn Green; brothers, Tony Bagley (Denise) and Robert Bagley (Linda); sister, Diane Golden (Tom); father-in-law, Deacon Alton Futrell, Sr.; brother-in-laws, Kim Rodgers, Alton Futrell, Jr., Pastor Dionte Futrell (Fran), Richard Riddick (Cheryl), and Patrick Riddick (Chariss); sisters-in-laws, Myra Childs, Karen Cooper, Hope Mizell (Bobby), Cynthia Allen-Jones, and Paulette Hagan (Ted); his Crocker Funeral Home, Inc. family; T.B.O.C. Church family, and a host of godchildren, family, and friends.
