Lloyd E. Thomas, 63, of Suffolk, VA, passed away on March 31,2022 after a tough, private battle with Chronic Cirrhosis and Sepsis associated Encephalopathy. Lloyd was born on January 25, 1959 to Elizabeth and Benjamin Thomas in Brownsville, Brooklyn, NY. After graduating from Richmond Academy in Augusta, GA went on to begin his life's journey with the Navy, where he served honorably for 9 Years. In 1987, he met Veronica Thomas, and they wed in 1990, going on to have 1 son, Kiron Thomas. Lloyd Thomas was always firm in his beliefs, one of his most essential being how he was committed to fatherhood and protecting his family. His passion of connecting to people and wanting to see black communities improve led him to an eventful career with Department of Corrections. He spent 20 years of service establishing connections with individuals from all walks of life. Lloyd worked diligently behind the walls that, many of us often forget, contain people from our own communities battling hope and good intentions for a second chance. Many stories he shared where he had any positive impact on an individual would visibly light up his spirit as a way God used him and provided a sense of purpose. Anyone who knew Lloyd Thomas, knew that he was confident, Godfearing, and a natural-born protector of his loved ones. Lloyd was predeceased by his father, Benjamin Thomas. He is survived by Elizabeth Thomas (Mother), Veronica Thomas (Wife), Kiron Thomas (Son), Gail Dixon (Sister), Victoria Nixon (Sister), Victor Davis (Brother), and several cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and extended family members and friends. Public viewing will be held 5-7 p.m. Friday, April 22, 2021 in the Melvin J. Blowe Chapel. A celebration of life will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 23, 2022 at Mt.
