Lisa Sherron Smith Pray Watson, 59, of Byrd Street, Suffolk, VA, transitioned on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at Sentara Obici Hospital.
She was born in Suffolk Virginia on May 24, 1965 to Herbert and Doris Smith.
Lisa Watson was a graduate of John F. Kennedy High School in 1982. Before Pursuing a degree in Social Work from Norfolk State. She retired from the City of Suffolk Social Services in 2021. Lisa enjoyed her childhood playing hop scotch, Pictionary and chase with her cousins and friends. She also enjoyed as an adult, shopping, going to different restaurants, comedy shows and travelling. But most of all she enjoyed spending time with her husband, family and grandchildren. She was an exceptional wife, sister, friend and grandmother. Her smile would light up a room. We could have not asked for a better sister, wife and friend. Lisa will be missed and her memory will live on in the hearts of all those that love her.
Lisa was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert Smith, Sr. and Doris Smith; sisters, Rachel Smith and Wendy Smith; nephew, Kenneth Bernard Payton, III; grandparents Frank and Virginia Smith; aunts, Mamie Smith, Barbara Smith; uncles, Rufus Smith and Arthur Smith; mother-in-love, Edith Watson; father-in-love, Robert Watson.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Wesley Samuel Watson; son, Dominique Pray, Cedric and Rianna Johnson; nine grandchildren, Jordan Pray, Journey Pray, Brior Pray, Cameryn Johnson, Aryanna Johnson, Barter Johnson, Kyrie Johnson, Aliyah Johnson and Kayson Johnson; brother, Herbert Smith, Jr. (Jacqueline Smith); aunt, Thelma Smith cousins, Angela Ferguson, Laurie Watford, Allison Smith, Johnnetta Ruffin, Larry Smith, Ronald Smith-AKA Spook and Eric Smith, Pete Smith, Rufus Smith Jr., Juanita Smith, Button Smith, Yvonne Richards and Milton Johnson III; and other relatives and friends.
A public viewing will be held 1-5pm, Sunday, March 9, 2025 in the Melvin J. Blowe Chapel of Crocker Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held 11am, Monday, March 10, 2025 at First Baptist Church South Hill. She will be laid to rest in Carver Memorial Cemetery. Professional services with dignity have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home, Inc.
