Linda Marie Ricks Artis

On the morning of Sunday, November 26, 2023 around 1:15am, the Lord released his holy angels to 133 Nancy Drive, Apt T-4, Suffolk, VA to take our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to her home in glory.

Linda Marie Ricks Artis was born to the late Willie Ricks Sr. and Ethel Mae Artis Ricks on April 13, 1957 in Nansemond County, Virginia. She was predeceased by one sister, Florence Lee Ricks; three brothers, Edward Lee Ricks Sr., Kenneth Ricks, and Willie Ricks, Sr., one sister-in-law, Jenette F. Ricks, and one nephew, Michael D. Ricks.

She last attended John Yeates High School and later worked for Bunny's Family Restaurant for 40+ years. She loved cooking and doing for her family. She was our mother in her own way, she will be missed.

Linda leaves behind to cherish lasting and loving memories her two daughters who took care of her, Lorrie Ann Ricks and Tracy R. Jones (Quinton); grandchildren, Markeas D. Ricks, Kashaun Ricks, Javon Carr, Shontc'rc Q. Jones, Ashonti Jones, Jeremiah Jones, Delisha Dew, and Duquan "K-Love" Wilson; three great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchildren; brothers, Ronald Ricks, Sr. of Lancaster, SC, Gregory Ricks of Hampton, VA, Leon Ricks of Norfolk, VA, Garland (Pete) Ricks & wife of Suffolk, VA, and Michael Ricks; two sisters-in-law whom she loved very much, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Rest on my sister, until we meet again, Love You Always

 A celebration of life will be held noon, Friday, December 22, 2023 in the Melvin J. Blowe Chapel of Crocker Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest in Carver Memorial Cemetery. Professional services with dignity have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home, Inc.
