The Obituary
of
DEACONESS LINDA WRIGHT COLEMAN
LINDA WRIGHT COLEMAN, was born on August 9, 1956 to the late Elmore T. Wright, Sr. and Constance V. Wright in Nansemond County, Virginia, the 7th of Eleven children. She attended school in Suffolk and graduated from John Yeates High School in 1975. She met the Love of her life Larry D. Coleman the Summer of 1980, and they were joined together in Holy Matrimony on July 8,1995.
Linda joined First Baptist Church Denbigh in Newport News, Virginia, September 28, 2003, where she served on The Women’s Ministry, Sunday School Member, Bible Study, Couples Ministry, Usher Ministry and Deaconess Ministry.
Linda was employed at George Washington Hospital, in Washington DC. Where she worked as a Dietician for over 20 years. After retirement Linda worked at Denbigh Christian Academy as a Teacher/Kitchen Assistant.
Linda was preceded in death by, her Sister Cordelia E. Wright & Brother Charlie A. Wright, Sr.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her Husband of 30 years Larry D. Coleman; Sons, Larry D. Coleman & Linwood D. Coleman; Sisters: Constance Teresa Edwards of Hephzibah, Georgia, Pamela R.Wright of Oxon Hill, MD, Hazel Marie Johnson (Andrey) of Suffolk, VA, Beatrice A. Wright of Chesapeake, VA and Minister Remona L. Drew (Willie, Sr.) of Smithfield, VA; Brothers: Elmore T. Wright, Jr. (Earnestine) of Mitchellville, MD, Linwood C. Wright (Maxine) of Newport News, VA and Clinton B. Wright, Sr. (JaVonda) of Suffolk, VA; Sister-In-Law: Lottie Jones, of Wakefield, VA; Brother-In-Law; James Coleman (Carolyn) of Richmond, VA; a God Daughter; Nikita Wright Carter (Jason) of Chesapeake, VA; and a host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Friends.
A public viewing will be held 3-7pm, Friday, February 27, 2026 at Crocker Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held 1:00pm, Saturday, February 28, 2026 at First Baptist Church Denbigh, 3628 Campbell Rd, Newport News, VA 23602. Mrs. Coleman will be laid to rest at the church cemetery. Professional services with dignity, compassion and care have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home, Inc.
