Lillie H. Long

Lillie H. Long, 87, of Chisholm Lane, Suffolk, transitioned Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at her residence. She was the daughter of the late George Hall and Ada H. Skinner. She was preceded in death by her brothers George Earl Hall and Joseph Hall; sister, Addie Sweatt and Lorraine Hardy. Lillie was a graduate of East Suffolk High School and retired from Louise Obici Hospital as a supervisor in Environmental Services after 34 years of faithful and dedicated services. She was a member of Mt. Ararat Christian Church where she served as a Usher and Deaconess. She leaves to cherish her memory two sons, Steven R. Saunders (Sandy M.) and Robert Keith Saunders both of Suffolk; sister, Betty White (Vernon) of Suffolk; three grandchildren, Travis, Seven Jr. and Derrick Saunders; four great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A special thanks to Sentara Hospice Services, Tracey Pope, Dionne Wilson, Gail Milteer, Rosa Gibbons, and Phyllistine Pegram. A celebration of life will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, February 25, 2019 at Mt. Ararat Christian Church, 1860 Airport Road, Suffolk. Rev. H.H. Murrill will deliver the message of comfort. She will be laid to rest in Nansemond-Suffolk Cemetery. The family will receive guest at 608 Chisholm Lane, Suffolk, Virginia.
