Lessie Mary Everett

Lessie Mary Taylor was born in Chowan County, North Carolina to Annice Taylor on April 19, 1921. The oldest of 4 children, she was preceded in death by her sister Frances and her brothers Alton and Sherman. Lessie was educated in North Carolina before moving to Suffolk, VA. where she met and married the love of her life, John C. Everett and they married in 1941. In 1943, they moved to New York where Lessie gave birth to the couple's 2 children, Chester Earl and Sheila Ann. Chester Earl passed away in 2014. Lessie and John were both devoted members of Holy Rosary Church. Lessie was a dedicated member of Rosary Society for many years. The loving couple was happily married for 75 years before John passed away in 2017 at the age of 97. A viewing will take place from 10-11 a.m. Thursday, February 27, 2020 in the Melvin J. Blowe Chapel of Crocker Funeral Home following immediately will be a celebration of life. She will be laid to rest in Carver Memorial Cemetery.
