Lee Andrew Newby

Lee Newby,73, of St. Clair Drive, Chesapeake, VA transitioned Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. He was the son of the late Elizabeth Butler and Gerald Newby, Sr. He retired in 2010 from the Newport News Shipyard after 35 years of faithful and dedicated service. He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Carolyn G. Newby of Chesapeake, VA; daughter, Sabrina A. Newby of Chesapeake; two sons, Danny C. Brinkley (Crystal) of Portsmouth and Calvin C. Brinkley (Bennetta) of Suffolk, VA; very special niece and nephews, Javonte' Wright and Novaja Wright; seven brothers, Gerald Newby, Jr. (Audrey) of Smithfield, Roger Newby (Dorine) of Ivor, VA, Columbus Newby (Shirley Ann) of Surry, VA, Jackie Newby (Lucy) of Zuni, VA, Barbara Newby of Surry, VA, Willett Cubby of Surry, VA and Jerome Newby of Newport News, VA; four grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A graveside service will be held 1:30 p.m. Saturday, January 2, 2021 in Carver Memorial Cemetery. Professional services with dignity have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home, Inc.
