Leandra Trumaine Wilson

Leandra Trumaine Wilson, was born September 12, 1983 to Michelle Theresa Wilson Joe and Gene E. Turner, at Obici Hospital in Suffolk, Virginia. Leandra departed this earthly life unexpectedly on December 1, 2024 at the home of his Uncle Otis Brown in Suffolk, Virginia.

Leandra aka "Lee" and "Willy" attended Nansemond River High School Suffolk, Virginia. After finishing high school Leandra entered the U.S. Army in 2001. He became a Signal Support System Specialist. After basic training he was assigned to Korea for four years. He returned to the States and was stationed at Fort Andrews Base in Maryland for five years. He also served in Iraq and Afghanistan for a total of four years. After retiring from the Army, he worked as an ITS Service Desk Operational Team Leader at The Brooking Institution for three years. From there to the Charles E. Smith Jewish Day School as a Helpdesk Analyst for eight years. Until God called him home, he worked for CSZ Net as a contractor for the District of Columbus School System.

He leaves to cherish his warm memories, his mother, Michelle T. Joe and Father Gene Turner of Suffolk, Virginia; sister, Casa Hick, Suffolk, VA; aunts, Connie Everett and Mattie Turner of Suffolk, VA and Ida Golden of Jacksonville, FL; uncles, Otis Brown, Reginald Wilson (Dianne), Melvin Turner, Larry Turner, Willie Turner (Florence of Suffolk, VA; Lemuel Wilson (Latrice) of Chesterfield, VA; special friend, Andres Redwood of P.G. County, Maryland; bonus brother, David Coates of Houston, TX as well as a host of cousins and friends.

A celebration of life will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 14, 2024 at Rising St. James PHC. He will be laid to rest in Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery at a later date. Professional services with dignity have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home, Inc.
