Lankford Harrell Jr.

Lankford Harrell Jr., 65 of Holland Road,  Suffolk, VA, transitioned on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at his residence. 

He was born on January 31, 1960, to the late Lankford Harrell Sr. and Melinda Harrell. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy Harrell Maxwell.

Lankford graduated from John F. Kennedy. He worked as a truck driver for over 30 years. He also worked at Bowie Race Track in Bowie, Maryland. Lankford's favorite team was the Pittsburgh Steelers. He enjoyed watching horse racing and Track &Field. He was recognized as Driver of the Year in 2014 and 2016.

Lankford leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife, Wanda Harrell, his children; Shanea Harrell Tuggles (Allen) and Clinton Harrell; a step son, Warren A. Ashby Jr. (Toya), 9 granddaughters, 1 great granddaughter, sister-in-laws; Wilma James and Rebecca Bowers, nephews; Jeff and Matt Diggs, niece; Mya Bowers, great nephew; Jayden Diggs, mother-in-law; Edith James, father-in-law; William James, special family and friends; Lorenza and Barbara Smith, William Brown (Tall man), and Eddie Parker (Grease monkey) and a host of family and friends and John F. Kennedy class of 1978.

A viewing will be held on Friday, February 20, 2026, from 2 p.m.-5 p.m. A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, February 21, 2026, in the Melvin J. Blowe Chapel of Crocker Funeral Home. Professional services with dignity have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home, Inc.
