Kolley Wayne Lewis

Kolley Wayne Lewis,47, of Wexford Drive, West transitioned May 22, 2020 at Sentara Obici Hospital. He was the son of Edna M. Lewis and the late Deacon Kelley M. Lewis. He attended Suffolk Public Schools and graduated from John F. Kennedy High School class of 1990. He attended Norfolk State University and worked at John Yeates Middle School where he was a safety monitor, football coach and mentor. Kolley was a member of Macedonia A.M.E and other than spending time with his wife and family he loved sports, especially the Washington Redskins. He loved traveling, playing cards and gaming (with his home boys). He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Pleasure D. Lewis of Suffolk, Virginia; two daughters, Kamiyah Denee’ Lewis and Brionna Higgs (God daughter); godson, Jacaree Bland of Norfolk, Virginia; sister, Kim Chisholm (Kenneth); three brothers, Kelley Lewis, Jr. (Johnna) of Suffolk, VA and Ryan Lewis (Cheryl) of Clinton, MD and Kevin Lewis of Suffolk, Virginia two grandchildren, Rylee and Kynlee; mother-in-law, Jackie Payne (Roy) of Newport News, VA; father-in-law, John Hite (Carlese) of Suffolk; sister-in-law, Joy Hite of Middleburg, Florida; uncle, Earl Haskins (Becky); aunt, Debora Sears (Hersey) of Suffolk, VA; a host of nieces and nephews, other family members and friends; The entire Lake Kennedy Community. A special thank you to VCU Health Hume-Lee Transplant Center, Sentara Obici ICU Staff, John Yeates Middle School Staff and Students. A public viewing will be held Friday, May 29, 2020 from 2-7 p.m. in the Melvin J. Blowe Chapel. A private service will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2020. He will be laid to rest in Carver Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive guest at 210 Wexford Drive. West, Suffolk, VA 23434.
