Kenneth Tyrone Watson

Kenneth Tyrone Watson, Sr., 55, of Meadow Country Road, Suffolk, departed this life on Sunday, May 9, 2021. He was born on April 11, 1966 in Washington, DC. A graduate of John F. Kennedy High School, Kenneth remained a faithful employee in the Maintenance Department of Suffolk Public Schools for 24 years. He was a member of Mt. Ararat Christian Church, where he served as a member of the male chorus and the Mt. Ararat Men’s Ministry. Kenneth was preceded in death by his father, John Harold Watson. He leaves to cherish his memories, one son, Kenneth Watson Jr., Washington, DC; mother, Betty Watson and one brother, Michael T. Watson, of Suffolk; three uncles, John C. Saunders Jr. (Shelley) of Chesapeake, VA; Percy R. Saunders (Charleen) and Warner D. Saunders (Andrea) of Suffolk. He is also survived by five great aunts, Dora Lockett, of Washington, DC; Barbara Black (Robert) of VA. Beach; Lennora Skeeter, Ann Saunders, Suffolk; and Eloise Skeeter of Ingleside, CA; one great uncle, Aubrey Skeeter of Suffolk; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A funeral will be held on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Mount Ararat Christian Church, 1860 Airport Rd. Suffolk, VA.; Pastor, Amos Woods Jr. presiding. The service will also be broadcast live via the Mt. Ararat Christian Church Facebook page. He will be laid to rest at Nansemond-Suffolk Cemetery, Suffolk, Va.
