Kashawn Renee Watkins

Kashawn Renee Watkins, of 113 South Capitol Street, transitioned on January 23, 2025 at Henrico Doctors’ Hospital in Richmond, Virginia. She was the daughter of the late Ethel and Sterling Watkins. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Glenda Boone, Carolyn Todd, and Hattie Wilson and one sister-in-law, Shelly Watkins.

Kashawn attended Nansemond River High School and graduated in the year of 1994. She was employed for several years with Atlantic Parking. Kashawn was a loving and kind-hearted person, who dearly loved her family. She was always willing to help anyone in need. 

Kashawn leaves to cherish her memories her oldest brother, Sterling Watkins, Jr; brothers, Keith Watkins and Wayne Watkins (Barbara); sisters, Diana Chapman (Kelvin) and Rev. Bernadette Melton (Billy); best friend & sister, JaQuay Taylor; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. 

There will be no public viewing. A celebration of life will be held noon, Friday, January 31, 2025 in the Melvin J. Blowe Chapel of Crocker Funeral Home, Inc. She will be laid to rest in Holly Lawn Cemetery. Professional services with dignity have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home, Inc.
