Karl Ryvell Reed, beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, and friend, passed away on May 4, 2025, in Baltimore, Maryland. He was 55 years old.
Born on July 24, 1969, in Buffalo, New York, Karl was the son of Charles Reed and Phyllis Shell. He was educated in both the Buffalo Public Schools and the Norfolk Public School System. Karl was deeply proud of his roots, carrying his love for Buffalo—and especially the Buffalo Bills—wherever he went. He often said, “Hopefully this is their year,” dreaming of the day the Bills would win the Super Bowl.
Karl had an unmatched sense of style and a passion for fashion, favoring Ralph Lauren and always repping his Bills gear. He was a master on the grill and loved a good barbecue. He never missed a chance to laugh and connect with his friends over the phone, keeping his crew close no matter the miles.
Karl found joy in the simple things—family, food, football, and fashion. He deeply loved his wife of 31 years, Katina Reed, their children, grandchildren, and all of his extended family. Though affectionately known as “the little one,” his heart, spirit, and presence were anything but small.
For the past three years, Karl worked as a floor technician at FutureCare, where he took great pride in his work. He was twice honored as Employee of the Month, and his dedication left a lasting impression. As his supervisor put it, “Someone’s got some big shoes to fill.”
Karl leaves behind his devoted wife Katina Reed; his children Karl Delk, Destiny Wright, and Takara Wright; nine cherished grandchildren; his mother Phyllis Shell; his siblings; an uncle; his in-laws; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends who will miss him dearly.
Karl’s legacy is one of love, loyalty, laughter, and Bills football. He will be forever remembered and always missed.
