Joyce Ann Wilkins

Joyce Ann Wilkins, 66, of 944 Smoke Tree Lane, Virginia Beach, Virginia 23452 transitioned Sunday, June 18, 2023 at Sentara Princess Anne Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Mamie Corbett Wilkins and Maryland Wilkins, Sr. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers, Willie Wilkins, Sr and Maryland Wilkins, Jr; sisters Ruth E. Hill and Audrey Vaughan; aunt Alice Myrick; nephews, Joseph Wilkins, Lloyd Hill III, Mario Wilkins and Willie Wilkins, Jr. and brother-in-law, Lloyd Hill, II. She attended Suffolk Public Schools, graduating with honors. Joyce also was a childcare provider for many. Joyce attended Sixth Street Baptist Church in Suffolk, VA as a child and later attended Allen Temple and St. Timothy Baptist Church. She became a member of the General Assembly and would later become part of Rising St. James P.H.C. where she was a member of the senior and mass choir as well as the senior and inspirational usher board and kitchen committee. She eventually joined Total Transformation House of Praise. When she moved to Virginia Beach, she attended St. Luke United Church until her health failed. She leaves to cherish her memory one daughter; Sierra Anderson (Joseph); four grandchildren, Amani Anderson, Jaylen Edwards, Amirah Byrd, and Joseph Anderson, II; one sister, Rose M. Carr (Milton); two brothers, Robert Wilkins (Celestine), Jeffery Myrick (Sandra); four sister-in-laws, Dorothy Wilkins Woodley, Barbara Jean Wilkins, Catherine Wilkins, and Gloria Wilkins; one special brother, Nathaniel Smith; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, friends, and a special reference to her three T's - Tina, Tiny & Tracy. A public viewing will be held 1:00 -6:00pm, Sunday, June 25, 2023 in the Melvin J. Blowe Chapel of Crocker Funeral Home, Inc. A celebration of life will be held 12 Noon, June 26, 2023 at Rising St. James PHC. Rev. Robert Wilkins will deliver the message of comfort.
