Johnny Spruill

On March 8, 2025, Johnny (June) Spruill (Coldstick) departed this life while being a patient at Southampton Memorial Hospital. He was a native of Suffolk, VA., born on March 16, 1956 to Johnny and Louise Spruill. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Tony and Donald and a sister Bernice. Johnny loved his family and he loved to eat and play the radio so he could dance.

He leaves behind cherished memories, his parents, Johnny and Louise Spruill of Suffolk, VA., three brothers Raymond of Suffolk, VA., Leon (Apostle Dr. Tonya) of Elizabeth City, NC., John (Malinda) of Portsmouth, VA, two sisters Betty Jones (Shelley) of Holland, VA and Mabel Goodwin of Franklin, VA., one uncle, James Futrell (Mary Louise) of Ahoskie, NC., two aunts Bernice Mumford of Hookerton, NC., and Frances Fordham of F.T. Barnwell, NC., and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Two favorite nurses, Dorenda Lyons and Sandra Brown at East Pavilion nursing home in Franklin, VA.

A public viewing will be held 5-7pm, Friday, March 14, 2025 at Crocker Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held 1:00pm, Saturday, March 15, 2025 in the Melvin J. Blowe Chapel of Crocker Funeral Home. Professional services with dignity have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home, Inc.
