Joe White

Joe Louis White, 79, of 3768 Butler Drive, Suffolk, VA, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 12, 2018 at Sentara Obici Hospital. He was a native of Nansemond County and the son of the late William and Celia White. He was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.He joined Mineral Spring Baptist Church at an early age. He was a U.S. Army Veteran. He retired in 2004 after more than 30 years with the City of Suffolk Public Schools.He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 56 years, Eva Odell White; god-daughter, Rita Beamon (Ronald); devoted nephew, Ledell White; sister-in-law, Irene Lowther; brother-in-law, Thurman Langston; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A celebration of life will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 20, 2018 at Palm Tree Baptist Church. Rev. Anthony Sommerville will deliver the message of comfort.
