October 28, 1940 — December 29, 2021

Jimmie Lee Goodman peacefully and quietly departed his earthly life, at the Sentara Obici on Wednesday, December 29th, 2021, to be with the Lord. Jimmie Lee was born in Nansemond County to the late Charlie Alfonzie Goodman and Eunice Wilson Goodman. He was preceded by, one brother Raiford (Ray) Goodman. Jimmie Lee joined Corinth Chapel United Church of Christ, at an early age, before his health began to fell he served as dedicated member of the Male Choir, Bible Study, Usher Ministry, Laymen’s Fellowship, and Trustee of the Chairman Board. Jimmie Lee attended different organization throughout his life to include; a Member of the Holland Lodge No. 256 for forty-four (44) years, a member of the Friends Association, and a member of the Holland Community Birthday Club. Jimmie Lee was employed at the Newport News Shipbuilding as a WELDER for (40) years. He faithfully worked the Election Polls. Over the years he served as a Security Officer, Holland Center monitor/lease. He was a Holy Neck Demon baseball player and his CB handle was MR. CLEAN!!! Jimmie Lee was a patient, loving and dedicated husband, brother, uncle, and grandfather better known as (Pa-Pa) to Alaelah Langron, Promise Parson and Navaeh Parson known as his Baby girls, and his Baby boy, NaGee, Parson. Jimmie Lee favorite football team was the Dallas Cowboys. Jimmie Lee hobbies were watching General Hospital at 2 p.m., reading Daily Devotion, working crossword puzzle books, cooking, traveling, and his all-time favorite, was cutting his own grass two to three times a week, or “just cutting the top of the grass”. (Giving order lol) Jimmie Lee leaves to cherish his memory his wife of three (3) years; Mary LaTina Hunter Goodman, of Suffolk, VA; two stepdaughters, Ciara Hunter, of Suffolk, VA, and Cheryl D. Hunter, of College Park, Georgia, four step grandchildren; Alaelah D. Langron, of College Park, GA; Promise L.N. Parson, Navaeh S. Parson, and Samuel T. Fagbuyi III, all of Suffolk, VA; one brother, Hurley Goodman, of Suffolk, VA; one sister Hazel Z. Lowther, of Suffolk, VA; one niece, Bertina Elizabeth Goodman of Suffolk, VA; two nephews; Earl Goodman, (Shavdra), and Talmadge “Tab” Goodman, of Suffolk, VA; four goddaughters; Cassandra “Sandy” Faulk, of Fontana, CA; Lesia Boone-Johnson, of Suffolk, VA; Jonté Collins, (Theodore), of Suffolk, VA; and Tammy Stephens, (Anthony), of Franklin, VA; two godson; Keith Boone of Bowie, MD; and Gregory Roberts, of Suffolk, VA. He admired his neighbors; Mr. and Mrs. Matthew Marks, and two devoted friends/cousins who has gone home to be with the Lord were James R. Gatling (Ronnell) and William Goodman; along with a host of other cousins and friends to cherish his memory. A celebration of life will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, January 8, 2022 at Balm Church-East Campus. He will be laid to rest in Corinth Chapel U.C.C. Cemetery.
