Jeanette Ivy Boone

Jeanette Ivy Boone, 76, of Chisholm Lane, Suffolk, transitioned Sunday, January 20, 2019 at her residence.  She was the daughter of Mrs. Nellie M. Spratley and the late John Henry Thomas. She was a domestic engineer and retired in 2019 after 58 years of faithful and dedicated service. She was a member of Union Missionary Baptist Church and Mt. Lebanon C.O.G.I.C, where she served as former music department President, Member of 2nd Senior Choir, hospitality president(Mt. Lebanon C.O.G.I.C) and former Missionary of Mt. Lebanon. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Mr. Johnny C. Boone, Sr. of Suffolk; four daughters, Athalia Wright, Carmen Hall(Roderick), Lillian Green(Donald), and Yvonnedria Boone all of Suffolk; two sons, Carey M. Wright, Sr.(Darlene) and Elder Johnny C. Boone, Jr. both of Suffolk; two sisters, Beverly J. Davis of Smithfield, VA and Felicia A. Spratley of Suffolk; four brothers, Robert L. Wright, Sr.(Althea) of Gates, NC, Douglas E. Spratley, Sr.(Ida), Fred L. Spratley, Sr.(Eunice), and Malcom S. Spratley, Sr., all of Suffolk, VA; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a goddaughter, Beatrice Boone of Suffolk, VA; life long friend, Brenda Johnson; a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends. A celebration of life will be held noon, Monday, January 28, 2019 at Union Missionary Baptist Church. Bishop C.V. Russell, Jr. will deliver the message of comfort. She will be laid to rest in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. The family will be accepting guest at 507 Chisholm Lane, Suffolk.
