Jean Cobb

Our beloved Jean Cobb, 82, of 318 Bank Street entered into eternal rest on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at Sentara Obici Hospital. Jean was born to the late Jordan Copeland, Sr., and Bessie Gatling Copeland on June 21, 1936 in Suffolk, VA. Jean was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She professed Christ at an early age and was a longtime member of Metropolitan Baptist Church. Jean retired from Planters Peanut Company after 42 years of service. Jean was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, William C. Cobb and a son, Michael A. Cobb. Jean leaves to cherish her memory her children, Wayne Cobb (Alice), Sharon Cobb, Sheila Cobb and Clinton Cobb (Valerie); 15 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, a brother, Marvin Copeland (Jessie Mae); one brother-in-law, Frederick Cobb and three devoted friends, Laverne Glover, Lois Boone, and Harley Lloyd. Also left to cherish her memory is a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A celebration of life will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, June 21, 2019 at Metropolitan Baptist Church, 125 County Street, Suffolk, VA 23434. She will be laid to rest in Carver Memorial Cemetery.
