Janice Marie Williams

Janice Marie Williams, 66, of Roosevelt Dr. Suffolk, Va transitioned to her heavenly home on Saturday July 29th, 2023. She was born on May 8th 1957 in Isle of Wight County to Juanita Fleetwood & the late William Fleetwood. As a young child, Janice was a member of Holy Grove A.M.E church, where she sung in the choir. She graduated from Windsor High School class of 1976. In Janice early career she drove buses for Suffolk public schools. She later went onto work at Smithfield Packing as a line worker for over 20 years. If you knew Janice you knew she didn’t play about her sweetheart of 44 years Frank, her only daughter, Meka and her grandchildren Qua, I, Zay, and Dooda. Janice loved to shop, talk on the phone and spend time with family. She was the life of any celebration. If she was not cooking, you knew she would surely be dancing. Everyone that knew her knew how she could change the whole atmosphere with just her smile, her laugh & jokes. She often spent her days, surrounded by her cousin Mel J & her loving niece Feen where the day was filled with food & non- stop laughter. She leaves to cherish her memory, Devoted husband of 17 years Frank Williams, her beloved daughter Tomeka D Godwin (Dee), four precious grandchildren Sha’Quasia Godwin, IreYon Bunch, ZaYonni Bunch and Ontario Everette. Two sisters Carolyn Liggins (Edward), Benita Eley and one brother William Eley (Denise). Two Sister in laws Phyllis Schaffer (Russel) , Gladys Williams , brother in law Ernest Williams ( Clarinet ) & William Holmes One godson William Eley (Eura) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. A public viewing will be held 1:00-7:00pm, Monday, August 7, 2023 at Crocker Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be noon, Tuesday, August 8, 2023 in the Melvin J. Blowe Chapel.
