James Arthur "June" Fisher

James Arthur “June” Fisher entered eternal rest and peace on Sunday morning, January 9, 2022. James, better known as “June,” was born in Southampton County on March 3, 1956 to Decater and Marvin Fisher of Ivor, VA. “June” attended Southampton County Public Schools. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving parents, Decater and Marvin Fisher of Ivor, VA; a loving and devoted sister, Laverne Stokes (Ocie) of Smithfield, VA; a son, Telvin Lavar Ricks of Smithfield, VA; a goddaughter, Tamika Eley of Suffolk, VA; a devoted niece, Candice Edward (Dontae) of Concord, NC; a loving and devoted friend, Linda Baker of Smithfield, VA; two aunts, Alma Hill of Surry, VA, and Louise Haskins (James) of Ivor, VA; one uncle, Richard Clark, Jr. (Dorothy) of Wakefield, VA; one great aunt, Gladys S. Ruffin of Smithfield, VA; one great niece; two great nephews; and a host of other family and friends. A public viewing will be held 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. Sunday, January 16, 2022 in the Melvin J. Blowe Chapel. A celebration of life will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 17, 2022 in the Melvin J. Blowe Chapel of Crocker Funeral Home, Inc. Minister Nathaniel Fisher will deliver the message of comfort. Mr. Fisher will be laid to rest at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church Cemetery, 14165 Racetrack Rd, Ivor, VA 23866.
