James Edward "Bud" Speller

James “Buddy” Speller, was born January 11, 1945 in Nansemond County, Virginia to the late James Richard Speller and Eurie Dice Speller. Married to the Dolores Speller, James departed this life on September 25, 2021in Charlotte, North Carolina. He attended school in East Suffolk located in Suffolk, Virginia. He worked for Planters Peanut Co, before relocating to Brooklyn, New York. Where he retired as administrative supervisor of the custodian department for First Baptist Church of Crown Heights located in Brooklyn, New York. James was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed the mechanical aspect of repairing cars while serving as Treasure of “New York’s Camaro Car Club. Buddy was also known for his stylish fashion and handsome smile. He leaves behind a loving wife Dolores Speller, daughter Rosemary Riddick (Amos), sister Mary Speller-Esterine (Ronnie), eight grandkids Eurnicka Nixion (Owen), Ryan Artis, Thomasina Artis, Datwan Artis, Amos Riddick Jr (Krystle), James Gotti, Suquana Garvin (Alfred), Tyron Riddick (Nicole), two Godsons/nephews Donere Speller, Larry Speller and 30 great grandchildren and a host of niece, nephews, cousins, and friends. A celebration of life will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 9, 2021 at Greater First Baptist Church Orlando. Minister Tyron Riddick will deliver the message of comfort. Rev.
