James Douglas

Mr. James Douglas was the only child-born to the late Lizzie Mae Douglas Watford. He was born on November 14, 1944 in Nansemond County; he was a hardworking man and worked for 44 years or more at Jacobson Metal Company in Chesapeake Virginia to take care of his family until the company shut down. He was united in holy matrimony to Livia Odell Williams, on January 23, 1981. This union was blessed with one child. He was also the devoted father ot four other children whom he loved dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents, stepfather Edward Meddie Watford and Lizzie Mae Watford, his sons James Henry Holland and Edward Lewis Dozier, his mother and father in law Law James Artis Williams and Irene Pearl Williams and brother in law, Calvin Wiliams and sister in law Priscila Williams; aunts, Bessie Keys, Catherine Copeland, and Elsie Copeland; uncles, Junior Douglas and Wesley Douglas; grandparents, Rossevelt and Caroline Douglas. His life will forever be cherished in the lives of his loving wife, Livia O. Douglas; his children, Donna L. Douglas-Rumble (Armstead), Patricia Scott, of Franklin Virginia and Jessie Steward of Suffolk, Virginia; sister, Marth Knight of Franklin, Virginia; his grand children, Wendy Hunter, LaDonna Douglas, Latka Holland, Latasha Scott, Christina Scott, Allen Scott, Ciera Scott all of Franklin, VA, Javonda Worthington and Preshous Gibbs of Suffolk, VA; great grandchildren, Kainyya Hunter, ZaMarie Hunter, Arianna Edwards, Kristiana Douglas, Tialynn Winborne, James Douglas, Jayme Douglas, Angelina Burgos Tyasia Holland, Zakiyah Thompson, Jazaire Thompson, LaMonte Scott, Kaiden Porter, Jyasia Scott, Alvin Turner, Jayden Turner, Sevon Bradshaw, DeMarkus Scott, Denagia Whitfield; great-great-grandchildren, Zarie Hunter, Ke'Lyn Ricks, and Sakani Jeffrey; sisters-in-law, Irene McNeil (Luther), Mabeline Williams (Keith); brothers-in-law, Frank Williams, Randolph Williams (Julius) of Suffolk, Virginia, Cornelius Williams (Angela), Robert Williams (Phyllis) of North Carolina; nephew, Carl Knight; niece, Regina Knight; and a host of other cousins and friends. He was loved by all especially his good and devoted friends Morris (Kook dville)Keys, Murry(Bud)Johnson, and Samuel (Bo Diddley) Phelps in which he would sit on the porch and talk to daily. A celebration of life will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 22, 2020 in the Melvin J. Blowe Chapel of Crocker Funeral Home. Interment will be private.
