James Thomas Daughtery, Jr.

James Thomas Daughtery, Jr.,82, of Nansemond Parkway. Suffolk, Virginia transitioned Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at his residence. He was the son of the late Margaret L. Brown and James T. Daughtery. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Almeta Daughtrey. He was a graduate of East Suffolk High School class of 1956. He received his certificate in RCA Electronic School and Belsaw Institute for small Engine Repair. He retired as a produce associate, order selector, warehouse supervisor, Walmart Store, Farm Fresh Warehouse and Camellia Stores Warehouse after 45 years of faithful and dedicated service in 2008. He was a previous member of Bethlehem Christian Church. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Judith B. Daughtery of Suffolk, VA; daughter, Monique Barnes of Hampton, VA; son, Kyle Christmas of Manhattan, NY; nephew, Karl Daughtrey (Betty); great nieces, Tyechia Parker (LaTreal) and Tiffany McBath (Xavier); a great-grand nephew and niece. Some of James' other wonderful family are cousins: Beulah Wright, Vivian Barnes, harold Wallace, Sharon Wallace Shelton, Tanya West (Clarence). A brother-in-law, William J. Barnes, Jr., sister-in-law, M. Roberta Barnes; a host of relatives and friends who loved and cared for James. A viewing will be held Sunday January 3, 2021 in the Melvin J. Blowe Chapel from 1:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. A celebration of life will be held 1:30 p.m. Monday, January 4, 2021 in the Melvin J. Blowe Chapel of Crocker Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest in Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, 5310 Milners Road, Suffolk, VA 23434 on Monday, January 4, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. Professional services with dignity have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home, Inc.
