Jack Benjamin "Blade" Harper, 82, of Jackson Street, Suffolk, Virginia transitioned Friday, September 25, 2020 at Sentara Obici Hospital. He was the son of Ethel Mae Harper and Jack Harper, Sr. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Jackie L. Harper and Emma L. Harper and a brother, Joe Harper. He resided in Isle of Wight County and retired as a Cement Truck Driver. She leaves to cherish three daughters, Jack Harper Hatton (Welton) of Norfolk, VA, Tammy Harper Davis of Hampton and Cathy Smith (Joseph) of Suffolk; four sons, Alonzo L Jeffries and Eric G. Effinger both of New Jersey and Dwight L. Harper, Sr. and Roy Kelly both of Suffolk; two sisters, Jenette C. Harper and Ester Hawks both of Suffolk; four brothers, Marvin C. Harper, Sr. (Marie) of Smithfield, VA, Leslie Harper (Joyce) of Suffolk, VA, Hermon Harper of Franklin, VA and Demon Harper of Norfolk, VA; 17 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; a host of great-great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A celebration of life will be held 1:30 p.m. Sunday, October 4, 2020 at Shiloh Baptist Church, 9001 Firetower Road. He will be laid to rest in the church cemetery.
