Isiah Edwards, Sr.

Isiah Edwards, Sr., 84, of Clay Street, Suffolk, Virginia transitioned Friday, August 28, 2020 at Sentara Obici Hospital. He was the son of the late Effie Hoggard Edwards and Ernest Edwards. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Lillie Mae Beale Edwards, son, Rodney Edwards, sister, Nonie B. Cherry, brothers, J.T. Edwards, Cecil Edwards and James Edwards. He attended Bertie Public Schools and retired in 1997 from Peanut City Iron and Metal Company after 43 years of faithful and dedicated service. He leaves to cherish his memory four daughters, Ms. B.T. Mabry of Suffolk, Jacqueline A. Edwards-Jones of Carrollton, Cynthia Edwards of Wakefield and Nancy M. Hollmon-Smith of Jersey City, NJ; two sons, Isiah Edwards, Jr. of Norfolk and Calvin L. Edwards, Sr.(Sherry D. Cofield-Edwards)of Suffolk; brother, Franklin Edwards of Ahoskie,NC; 16 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a host of other family and friends. A viewing will be held 9:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Saturday, September 5, 2020 in the Melvin J. Blowe chapel of Crocker. A celebration of life will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 5, 2020 in the Melvin J. Blowe Chapel. Rev. Linwood Beale will deliver the message of comfort.
