Irene Hall

Irene Hall, 80, of Myrick Avenue, Suffolk, Virginia transitioned Sunday, April 7, 2019 at Sentara Obici Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Annie Mae Jones and Clifton Jones, besides her parents she was preceded in death by her son, Joseph Harris, Jr.; four sisters, Gladys O. Jones, Hattie Jones, Eleanora Jones, Valerie Merricks; sons-in-law, Kenneth L. Dowling and Alton L. Reid. She retired from National Linen Service Company and was a member of Pleasant Union Baptist Church.  She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Clinton C. Hall of Suffolk; two daughters, Cynthia D. Dowling of Norfolk, VA and Irene Reid of Suffolk, VA; two sisters, Delorise Knight of Suffolk, VA and Helen Brown of Portsmouth, VA; brother, Clifton D. Jones (Shirley); four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A celebration of life will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 12, 2019 at Pleasant Union Baptist Church, 215 Webb Street, Suffolk. Dr. N.P. Chambers will deliver the message of comfort. She will be laid to rest in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. The family will be receiving guest at 2101 Myrick Avenue, Suffolk.
