Helen D. Davis, age 96, of Suffolk, Virginia, passed away peacefully at her residence on February 18, 2026. She was the daughter of the late Philip Reid and Annie D. Warren of Suffolk, Virginia.


Born and raised in Suffolk, Mrs. Davis enjoyed a fulfilling career with Planter before retiring. Her educational foundation was established in the Suffolk Public School System. Our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother was known for her beauty, friendliness, kindness, fashion sense, caring nature, encouragement, resilience, and strong faith.


Mrs. Davis is survived by her devoted daughter, Yvonne Davis-Fagbuyi, and her loving son, Denvip (Moochie) Davis Sr. (Edith). She was blessed with a caring grandson, Samuel T. Fagbuyi Jr., and a great-grandson, Samuel T. Fagbuyi III. Her son, Frederick Darden, preceded her in death.


Her granddaughters are Latonya Davis of Virginia, Jacqueline Darden of North Carolina, and Jovan Darden Ricks (Derek) of Virginia. Her grandson is Denvip Davis Jr. (Lolita) of Texas.


Her great-granddaughters are Shantel Palmer (Festus) of Virginia, Adryanna Smith of Virginia, Aletheia Britt of Virginia, Verticia Harper (Antonia) of Virginia, Courtney Davis of Texas, and Robin Darden of Virginia.


Her great-grandsons are Christopher Taylor of Virginia, Leonard Darden of Virginia, Seacer Monroe III of Virginia, Air Force Captain Terrell Davis of Virginia, Tyrone Combs of Virginia, and Fernando Artis of Virginia.


She is also survived by numerous great-great-grandchildren, as well as extended family members and friends.


Mrs. Davis dedicated her time and efforts to her church, East End Baptist Church in Suffolk, Virginia, where she was a member for over 70 years. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at a young age. Mrs. Davis was a former member of the Junior Matrons, Sunday School Class #2, and Church Choir #2, and served on the Senior Usher Board, and worked in the Sunday morning nursery. She also served as a Den Mother for Cub Scout Pack #51 and prepared numerous meals for various church events. Additionally, she was a past president of House of Ruth #115, a past member of the Hospitality Club #46, and a past member of Golden Gate Temple #90.


The family extends gratitude to Growth Home Healthcare and Sentara Home Healthcare and Hospice for the exceptional care provided, with particular acknowledgment to CNA Deanna Sari.


A viewing will be held on Friday, March 6, 2026, from 3 p.m.-6 p.m. Family and friends are invited to honor Mrs. Davis at Crocker Funeral Home. The service will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at 11:00 AM in the Melvin J. Blowe Chapel. Mrs. Davis will be laid to rest in Carver Memorial Cemetery. Professional services with dignity, compassion, and care have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home, Inc.
