Dr. Harvey D. Bullock Jr. was born September 29, 1969, to the late Rebecca Mitchell Bullock and Harvey Bullock Sr. He graduated from Booker T. Washington High School and continued his education at Elizabeth City University, Delaware State University, and Capella University, ultimately earning his doctoral degree.
Harvey was baptized at Second Calvary Baptist Church in Norfolk, Virginia. While a member of the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship, he answered his call to ministry and preached his initial sermon in 2005. Through his preaching and inspirational “Morning Coffee” and “Afternoon Tea” social media platform, he encouraged many with the Word of God and messages of inspiration.
Harvey’s lifelong passion for music began as a child. A gifted multi-instrumentalist, he was a member of the NFL’s Baltimore Marching Ravens Band. Harvey served as Executive Director of the Milford School of Music. In addition, he was teacher and Band Director at Smithfield High School, Delaware State University, Central Middle School, Seaford High School, Sussex Technical High School, Booker T. Washington High School, and PolyTech High School.
A proud member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated, he crossed over in Spring 1990. His unforgettable voice could be heard on WRVS 89.9FM and WROL Heaven 1600AM. To know Harvey is to know dem boys, an avid Dallas Cowboys fan, he was also a mentor, father-figure, and friend to many. His influence extended far beyond the classroom, the pulpit, the radio, and the football field. His life was a gift, and his legacy will live on through the many lives he impacted.
Harvey was preceded in death by his parents, Rebecca Mitchell Bullock and Harvey Bullock Sr., and his grandparents, Louis and Betty Bullock & Rev. James and Esther Mitchell.
He leaves to cherish his memory his forever love; Maurene Lynel Bullock; his sons, Andre Bullock, Jordan Bullock, and Alonzo Sutton-Bullock; his daughter, Janoria Sutton-Bullock; his sister, Erica Bullock; his brother, Aaron Bullock; his stepmother Fannie Bullock; and a host of family, church members, fraternity brothers, friends, students, and colleagues.
