Gloria Y. Ruffin-Riddick

Missionary Gloria R. Riddick born September 3rd, 1944, raised in Suffolk, VA, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 25th, 2023. She was preceded in death by her parents the late Tom and Martha Ruffin, her sisters: Fannie and Louvenia Ruffin, her brothers: James McCoy, Roy Lee, Tom Jr., George Thomas, and Robert Ruffin, her nephew: Kaaron Ruffin. She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband, Deacon John Riddick and her children: Wennette Ruffin, Sally Brown, Darwin Lamont Ruffin, Sr. (Ashanti), Troy J. Ruffin, Sr. (Karen), Camille White, Jeanette Riddick, Kelvin Riddick, Jacqueline Gray (Tavarus), Larry Riddick (Audrey), Johnnella Hunter, Marquita Miller, Reva Miller and Christine Elliott (Desmond). She is also survived by her siblings: Lucille Johnson, Alberta Neville, Shirly Donaldson, and Carolene Hunter (Nathaniel). She was adored by her host of grand and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Gloria is a 1963 graduate of East Suffolk High School and retired from Lipton after thirty-five years of service. Gloria was a former member of Faith Temple Ministries Apostolic and served in the following ministries: Mass and Seniors of Inspiration Choirs, Ministers and Deacon Wives Ministry, Food Bank, clothes closet, Pastor’s Aid and missionary ministry. She was a advocate supporter and contributor of the Kings Kids of America Inc. and received many contribution awards from the organization. One of her passions was enjoying spending time with family. She also enjoyed vacationing, gardening and enjoyed fishing on the pier and boat trips. A public viewing will be held 1:00 -7:00pm, Wednesday, July 5, 2023 in the Melvin J. Blowe Chapel of Crocker Funeral Home, Inc. A celebration of life will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, July 6, 2023 at Faith Temple Apostolic Church.
