September 5, 1946 — August 13, 2024

Suffolk

On August 13, 2024, our beloved mother Gloria Jean Joyner received her wings and went to be with the lord. Gloria was the middle child of seven born to the late Neely J. and Ruth E. Joyner she was preceded in death by two brothers Neely Jr. and Lloyd Joyner and two sisters Thelma and Nellie Joyner.

Gloria was educated in Suffolk Public Schools. She worked numerous jobs, but due to her failing health she came out of work in the late 1990's on disability.

Gloria had a love for singing, playing baseball and watching western shows.

Gloria leaves to cherish her memory, four children, her beautiful daughter/caregiver Euvonka Wiggins of Suffolk, Va. three sons Tolbert/caregiver, Thomas (Linda) Joyner and Raymond Joyner all of Suffolk, Va. grandchildren and great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

She also leaves behind one sister Brenda J. Johnson of Suffolk, Va. and one brother Allen (Michelle) Joyner of Virginia 
Beach, Va. and numerous relatives and friends. The family would like to thank "Growth Home Health Care LLC. for their services.

A celebration of life will be held 1 p.m., Friday, August 23, 2024 at New Mt. Joy, 307 County Street, Suffolk, Virginia. She will be laid to rest in Carver Memorial Cemetery. Professional services with dignity have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home, Inc.
