Gloria Harvey-Duke

Gloria Jones Harvey-Duke died peacefully at her home after a courageous battle with cancer on May 25, 2018. She was born on December 25, 1950, she was the fourth child of the late Major C. Goodman and Ann Daisy Jones. Gloria retired from Sentara Obici Hospital in August 2017, after more than 20 years of service. She is survived by her husband Ronald Duke, Brother David Jones (Teresa); three sisters, Barbara Smith (James), Denice Jones and Bertha Winston (Paul). She was predeceased by two brothers, William C. Jones and Vernon L. Jones and a sister Joyce Jones Seaborn.Gloria loved her family and attending the Kingdom Hall where she formed a bond with a host of faithful friends. She also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews, including a bond with her great niece Ann Daisy Wright.The family would like to express their sincere thanks to Kindred Hospice, Virginia Oncology, Duke University, Bon Secour of Portsmouth, Dr. Brian King, Dr. Daniel Atienza, and a special thank you to hospice nurse Cheri Rice.A celebration of life will be held 1:oo p.m. Wednesday, May 30, 2018 in the Carver Memorial Cemetery Mausoleum where she will be entombed.
